Rules and Regulations
All rules listed below must be strictly adhered to. Any team deviating from any of these rules will be immediately disqualified from the Scavenger Hunt. Official rules:
1. Each team must submit their registration, waiver form, and their entry fee of $30 to the SC Parks and Recreation Commission by the morning of Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 8:30 am or preregister.
2. All drivers must be at least 18 yrs. old with a valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
3. Youths ages 16 and 17 may enter the Scavenger Hunt, but they must have written permission from their parents before they can begin the Hunt.
4. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
5. Hunt Officials will give each team captain a Scavenger Hunt List confirming that the entry fee and information has been received at 9 am to begin the hunt.
6. All individuals must obey local, state, federal and Spring City rules and regulations at all times.
7. Only official trails and sanctioned locations will be used. Please stay on trail!
8. No items will be cached in any part of the city EXCEPT for the trash question.
9. No questions or tasks require participants to gather materials from the city or make a destructive impact on city resources in any way.
10. Any team that fails to check in May 8th by the 5:00 pm cut off time will lose 5 pts. for every minute late up till 5: 30 pm, then will automatically be disqualified.
11. Teams must use one digital camera that uses a single removable memory flash card. No cell phone or non-flash memory card type cameras may be used. Spring City will not provide the camera. Memory card should be blank except for Scavenger Hunt pictures to help facilitate the grading.
12. The above stated flash card must be turned in along with your score sheet by 5:00 pm on April 17th to be judged. These memory cards will be returned to the players after the judging is concluded.
13. All photos taken during the event become the property of The Town of Spring City and the Spring City Parks and Recreation Commission.
14. Laptops or internet access will be permitted seeing that some questions require research.
15. Above all other rules listed above, please do not interfere with any other city guests. Treat others as you wish to be treated.

Event Waiver
I, the undersigned, agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Town of Spring City, Spring City Parks and Recreation Commission, and all sponsors of the May 8, 2010 Scavenger Hunt from all claims, damages, losses, injuries and expenses arising out of, or resulting from, my participation in the May 8, 2010 Scavenger Hunt. I further agree not to sue or assert any claim for damages from The Town of Spring City, Spring City Parks and Recreation Commission, or any event sponsors regardless of whether such claim is for personal injuries or property damage. I agree to abide by all local, state, federal and event rules.
In the event of an emergency, I understand that prompt medical treatment may be necessary. I agree and hereby authorize employees of The Town of Spring City, Spring City Parks and Recreation Commission, and all sponsors to obtain medical treatment on my behalf. I release The Town of Spring City, Spring City Parks and Recreation Commission, and all event sponsors from liability for such treatment and agree to assume the risk and financial responsibility for such treatment.
The undersigned specifically consents to and authorizes the use of and production of any and all photographs, slides, film or video taken during this event. Such images are the property of The Town of Spring City, Spring City Parks and Recreation Commission, and all sponsors and may be used for advertising, educational or other promotions on behalf of The Town of Spring City, Spring City Parks and Recreation Commission.

Who can play?
Anyone! The registration fee is $30 per team. (All proceeds go to “The Friends of the Park”) You can have as many people on your team as you like, provided all fit into one vehicle safely with seatbelts. Driver must be 18 yrs. old with proof of insurance. One registration form per team must be completed and submitted to Spring City Parks and Rec. Commission the morning of the Scavenger Hunt or Early Registration. One (1) rules and regulations form and (1) waiver form must be completed and signed by each member of your team. Anyone under 16 yrs. must be escorted be an adult.
What will the Scavenger Hunt include?
The Scavenger Hunt will include over 100 questions and activities that relate to information and places within and in the surrounding communities of Spring City such as hikes to particular locations, trivia, locating landmarks, and other hands-on projects. The hunt will range over most of the city, using roads and official trails to access particular areas. Some questions may require research to devise the answer so laptops and internet access will be allowed. As it is illegal to remove items from the city, one (1) digital camera with a flash memory card will be required per team. Questions are awarded points based on level of difficulty. The team with the most points wins!
When will the Scavenger Hunt take place?
The Scavenger Hunt will take place over an 8-hour period. Teams will receive their Scavenger Hunt list at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 8. Registration for each team will be at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 at the City Hall Building (Early Registration See Below). Completed lists are due at City Hall Building by 5 p.m. when tallying begins. Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded shortly afterwards.

The Scavenger Hunt is a test of teamwork and planning, not stamina or speed. The emphasis is on fun, not run, so that there’s a level playing field for everyone.

Community Yard Sale
Clean out those closets and garages! Spring City’s Friends of the Parks is holding its 2nd Annual “TRASH TO TREASURES” Community Yard Sale!
Last years “Trash to Treasures” was a great success! Even when Mother Nature made us reschedule due to rain. This Years “Trash to Treasure” is set for April 30 and May 1st
(Friday and Saturday) From 8:00am to 5:00pm At Spring City’s Veteran’s Park.
You can reserve a space by stopping By Blooming Crazy Florist located at 477 Front Street, right next door to Spec’s in the City. Applications are available any time during regular business hours. Hurry and reserve your space today.
Space size is 15ft. x 15 ft. the cost is $20.00 for both days. A rain date has been set for May 14th and 15th.
Trailers are welcome but must not be more than 15 feet in length, or an additional space fee will have to be purchased.
Yard sellers must supply their own tables and extension cords if electricity is needed. No Fire Arms or Fire Arms supplies may be sold during this event.
Set up may begin on the evening of April 29th, Security will be provided overnight for Thursday and Friday.
